Albufeira / Lagos / Sagres / Cape Saint Vincent (WEST Coast)

Departure towards Lagos: former capital of the Algarve from 1576 to 1756, this charming city has retained charm and character. Its beautiful walls hold alleyways lined with houses of dazzling whiteness. It was from here that most expeditions headed for Africa at the time of the great discoveries.
Visit of the walls, the Infante D. Henrique square in the center of which stands the statue of Henry the Navigator, the former slave market, which was the first in Europe.
Discovery of Ponte da Piedade: the reddish rock of the cliffs, discharged by the ocean in blocks of tormented forms, where marine caves nestle, contrasts dramatically with the turquoise blue of a limpid water.
Breakfast in a local restaurant.
Continuation to Sagres: windswept, this Finistère, in the extreme south-west of Europe, is a place full of history and emotion. Discovery of the tip of Sagres, partly occupied by the fortress built in the 16th century. Cape St. Vincent overlooking the ocean 75 m was always considered a sacred place (the Romans called the promontorium sacrum).
